National Society Membership

National members of CPRS living on Vancouver Island also belong to CPRS-VI. In addition, CPRS is affiliated with the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communications Management, and the International Public Relations Association (IPRA).

Eligibility

You are eligible to become a national voting member if you:

spend more than half your working time in practising or teaching public relations, or administering a full-time public relations department; and
agree to adhere to the CPRS Code of Ethics.

If you are not employed full-time in public relations, or are employed in functions partly related to PR, you may apply to become a National Associate (non-voting member). Dues and benefits are the same.

National membership is conferred at the discretion of the CPRS National Executive Committee, on the recommendation of the local society’s Membership Chair.

Dues

National membership dues are $333.50 for the first year. This includes a one time $50 initiation fee, GST on the national portion of dues, and your local society fees of $50. Annual renewals for national membership are $283.50.

Membership applications and renewals can be completed online and submitted electronically, or by mail to the national society office. Please follow this link to the national CPRS website and follow the instructions.
